With more and more people using their mobile phones to enjoy music, video and photos on the move, storage capacity is of the utmost importance. Most handsets employ memory cards in order to keep their designs slender and stylish, but a new innovation from Seagate could soon change all that.
Known as DAVE (Digital Audio Video Experience), this wireless technology allows you to store between 10GB and 20GB of content in a portable hard drive the size of a centimetre-thick credit card. This means you can easily slip it into your pocket or purse, streaming media files to your phone via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi over a distance of up to 30 metres.
As well as letting you download and store more and larger files on the go, DAVE enables you to share content with other mobiles and PCs. Expect to see the first DAVE devices hit the shops in a few months time, though prices have yet to be confirmed. For further details about DAVE visit Seagate.
