Philips AJ300D

Philips is taking an "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em" approach with its AJ300D alarm clock dock - at the front sits a slot to accommodate Apple's iPod, so you can wake up to your favourite tracks without having to mess around getting them off your trusty player.

The wOOx loudspeaker technology promises deep and powerful bass, with a maximum power output of 12W RMS from the five speakers.

There's a remote control included, so changing tracks doesn't involve changing positions, and it will top up your iPod's power while it's in place.

Owners of Philips' own GoGear range of MP3 players - all four of them - will be happy to know that the AJ300D is compatible with them too.
