iPod may be pushing 160GB, but if you're a serious music fan then even that amount of space isn't sufficient to contain your entire music collection. A portable player may provide a good subsection to listen to while you're on the go, but when you're at home you want full access to the lot.
The Freecom MusicPal will allow you to untether your music collection from your PC and stream it wirelessly about your house. In addition, it can provide access to over 5,000 internet radio stations so you'll never be stuck for something to listen to.
It works with both PC and Mac and has built in 802.11g Wi-Fi and a wired ethernet port. It'll happily playback MP3 or WAV files, but if the majority of your music is in AAC or WMA format, you may need to look elsewhere.
The MusicPal is available now for £100, see Freecom for more information.
