While there are GPS units on the market that can also turn their hand to media playback, Archos is going about things the other way round by adding satnav capabilities to its existing 605 WiFi player.
The kit consist of a normal 30GB 605 WiFi player, so you get a large 4.3in touch sensitive screen and the ability to playback video files or surf the internet wherever you've got wireless coverage, and an in car cradle that includes a GPS receiver. If you've already got a 605 WiFi, then you can also buy the cradle on its own.
It comes with maps for 22 European countries pre-loaded and as the screen is touch sensitive it's easy to operate. Alternatively, if you know where you're going then it can double as an in car entertainment system for your passengers.
The 605 GPS will be available in May for £299.99 and the GPS adapter on its own will be £99.99, see Archos for more information.
