If there was a prize for most bonkers product of the year, the Sony Rolly would easily win it hands down. While other manufactures are kitting out their MP3 players with full colour screens and oodles of memory, Sony has decided instead to build a music player inside a robotic, dancing egg. Seriously.
Its specs may be a little on the light side - it packs just 2GB of storage - but how many MP3 players do you know that can wave their arms in time to music while simultaneously creating a pulsating lightshow of up to 700 different colours? Exactly.
You can even use the supplied software to choreograph Rolly's movements to match your favourite tunes. That, alone, is surely worth the best part of £250? Alternatively the non-all-singing, non-all-dancing iPod nano starts at £109.
The Rolly is available now for £248.99, see Sony for further details.
