The Hug Shirt - wearable hugs

It used to be the only way to get a cuddle from your clotheswas to pick an outfit a size or more too small and then have a big meal. Instantlyyou’d feel the loving embrace of your jeans waistband cutting into you, whileyour shirt held you incredibly close as if it really cared.

Not any more. Now there’s the Hug Shirt. This is a technological marvel that lets one wearer remotely hug another viathe wonders of Bluetooth.

Each shirt contains smart technology pads with sensors andactuators that record a wearer’s hugging time, hug pressure, skin temperate andheartbeat. This data is sent to their mobile phone (which has to be java-enabled)and is then forwarded to the other person’s mobile. Finally the data reaches thatperson’s shirt which replicates the hug. It’s as easy as sending a text messageand, we’re sure, as spooky as being embraced by a ghost.

Although there’s no word on price or availability yet, it’sa nice idea which is sure to prove popular.

We just hope they don’t try to put the same technologyinto a scarf.
