The Bank of Life

Your spare change can make a big difference to some people. Just by handing over a few pence every day you can help someone to upgrade their life. Seriously.

Of course you’ll need to buy a Bank of Life to do it. This Tamagotchi-style piggy bank from Takara Tomy features a little LCD man in a small, shabby apartment. By feeding the bank coins you slowly help him to become a success.

Over time he upgrades to a bigger apartment, gains a taste for fine wines, purchases a pet and even gets married. (Although he presumably ends up expensively divorced when you take out some of your saved cash.)

The Bank of Life is available to buy in Japan for ¥4,987 (£21).
