Talking to yourself during a long car journey can make you feel lonely and slightly loopy. You'll get a far better response by chatting to the Magellan Maestro 4050, an innovative voice-operated sat-nav system.

Drivers can ask the attentive GPS device to search for an address or point of interest, have upcoming street names read out to them, and receive spoken turn-by-turn directions. It can also be operated via its 4.3in colour touchscreen if you're feeling shy or hoarse, and lets you make hands-free Bluetooth calls when you want to speak to someone else.

The Maestro 4050 includes a life time subscription for real-time premium traffic services and comes preloaded with full coverage maps of Europe from NAVTEQ. Available from next month for £299.99, find out more at Magellan GPS.
