Stylish Philips DECT phone

Just when you think your home phone can't get any more stylish, along comes a new model to put it to shame. This towering black slab of a phone, the Philips ID9371, has a gloriously retro-futurist look. The display looks like a simple clock but is actually a 'white backlit inverse display', which can show 65,000 colours and sounds all the more impressive because we don't have a clue what it means. We're also suckers for glossy black gadgets at the moment.

As you'd expect, sound quality should be good too, with Philips introducing its new ClearVoice HD technology on this model. It'll also suck all your contacts off a mobile phone sim; has 16 polyphonic ringtones; includes an answering machine with 15 minutes of recording time; and hands-free functionality. And did we mention that it's black and glossy?
