The entry level model comes with a 15in 1,440x900 LED-backlit display, 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 2GB of RAM and a 200GB hard drive. If you fancy splashing out, however, you could opt for a 17in 1,920 x 1,200 display, 2.6GHz processor, 4GB of RAM and a 300GB hard drive.

You also get Nvidia's latest GeForce 8600M GT graphics chip so 3D performance won't be a problem and an illuminated keyboard which makes it easier to type in poorly lit locations.

The updated Macbook Pro is available now from £1,299 from Apple.
