Apple isn't the only company with a super small laptop - the new Lenovo ThinkPad X300 measures just 318x231x18.5mm giving it a similar footprint to the Macbook Air.
The X300 includes a 64GB solid state drive as standard, which not only helps keep the weight down also makes it more resilient to bashes and bumps while out and about, as do the carbon and glass fiber materials used in its case. The screen stretches to 13.3in and it's an LED backlit model which should help boost battery life.
It uses a low voltage 1.2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo SL7100 processor which will increase battery life and comes with 1GB of RAM as standard. Lenovo has even managed to squeeze in space for an internal DVD writer.
The X300 is available now from Lenovo, prices start from £1,700.
