Medion is pitching the Akoya S5610 as the ideal back to school laptop, what with its slim design so it can easily slip into a backpack among text books.
It's got a decent amount of power thanks to its 2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor and healthy 3GB of RAM. The hard drive stretches to a capacious 320GB and it comes packing a DVD writer for backup. It features ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3470 graphics, so you should be able to play the odd game between classes on its 15.4in screen.
You shouldn't have a problem getting online, thanks to its built in wireless networking and it features a low power mode, so you'll be able to get more time out of the battery if you've got lectures all day.
