HP has announced a new addition to its TouchSmart family just three short months after the IQ500 proddable PC arrived.
The new IQ800 retains the same touchy-feely display as its smaller sibling but blows it up to 25.5in, making it ideal for big screen entertainment. It comes packing a 1080p HD capable resolution of 1,920x1,200 pixels and there's also a Blu-ray drive thrown in for good measure. A hardware TV encoder is included, so it shouldn't have any problem crunching down EastEnders in realtime, which you can then watch back at a more convenient moment.
Behind that large touchscreen, you'll find plenty of processing oomph from the Intel Core 2 Duo chip and Nvidia GeForce 9600M GS HD graphics. It also comes with wireless peripherals thrown in, so there are no messy cables to clutter up your desk.
The IQ800 will be available in November, prices will start at £1,499. For further details, see HP.
