Kingston is hoping to appeal to those that have a large amount of data they need to cart around, but don't want to lug a portable hard drive with them.

The new DataTraveler 200 can store up to 128GB of files, but measures no larger than a regular USB thumb drive. That's enough space to store 182 CDs or 27 DVDs.

The USB connector is retractable, so it's protected when not in use, and there's a password facility to prevent your files falling into the wrong hands.

The DataTraveler 200 is available now for £334.22 for the 128GB version, see Kingston for further details.

Iomega Ego portable hard drive

Iomega's new Ego portable hard drive should help keep your data safe while you're on the move.

Its Drop Guard technology will protect it from a fall up to 1.3m, which is 40 percent more than the industry average. It connects via USB and there's a Y cable included so you can power it from two ports if one can't provide enough juice.

It's available in 320GB and 500GB capacities and comes packed with software such as antivirus and backup utilities to help keep your files secure.

The Ego is available now for £74.99 (320GB) and £99.99 (500GB), see Iomega for more information.

Lacie's latest range of USB storage keys are designed to match the other lock turners you'll find on your keyring.

As they're made out of metal, you don't need to worry about them taking the odd bash or bump here and there while they're in your pocket.

The itsaKey and iamaKey designs are available with either 4GB or 8GB of storage on board, while the PassKey features a microSD slot so you can slip in your own memory card.

The PassKey is available for £9, the iamaKey and itsaKey start at £19, see Lacie for more information.

Leyio Personal Sharing Device

You may think USB keys are the best thing since floppy discs, but Leyio is hoping to make file transfer even easier with its Personal Sharing Device or PSD.

It comes packing 16GB of space to store your files and includes UWB (Ultra-wideband) technology for wireless data transfers - just put two in range of each other and flick them to send files across.

There's also a fingerprint scanner to keep your files secure and a USB port so you can share files the old fashioned way too.

The PSD will be available soon, see Leyio for further details.
