Networking
Most laptops come with Bluetooth built in these days, but if you were unfortunate enough to miss out Sandberg's new dongle can add wireless communications without extra bulk.
The Mini Bluetooth Dongle is barely bigger than a USB plug - with just enough extruding from the port so you've got something to grip hold of to pull it out.
Despite its small size, Sandberg has managed to cram in the latest Bluetooth 2.0 tech and an aerial so you shouldn't have any problems getting it to talk to other devices.
The Mini Bluetooth Dongle is available now for £15.99, see Sandberg for further details.
HomePlug is a great way to network your house without having to rewire everything. It works across your existing mains cabling so you just need to plug in an adapter and you're good to go.
Each adapter requires a power socket, though, but VeseNet has cunningly solved that problem by building one into a six-way mains extension cable.
In addition to three 200Mbps Ethernet ports it also sports six mains sockets with surge protection so you can hook up all your electronics without a problem.
The Piggy6 will be available in January for £85.03 from Solwise.
Lacie is hoping to prove that network attached storage need not be dull and boring with its swanky new Network Space drive. Fire it up and it'll sit happily on your network, serving up any files you need.
In addition to sharing files among PCs, it can also act as UPnP (universal plug and play) media server so you can stream movies or music to your PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 and it can also function as an iTunes music server.
It's available in 500GB, 750GB and 1TB capacities and comes in a sleek black case designed by Neil Poulton so it's more attractive to look at than most NAS drives.
The Network Space is available now for £119.90 (500GB), £149.90 (750GB) or £179.90 (1TB), see Lacie for further details.
