If you like the idea of shooting video in high definition but are put off by the high cost of camcorders, Genius's new G-Shot HD550T is worth a look.
It can capture footage at up to 720p resolution so you can future-proof your home movies. Video is recorded to SD card and there are two slots available so you add up to 64GB total in one go.
There's a 3in touchscreen display for playing back footage in the field, plus an HDMI port so you can hook it up to a big screen TV once you're home.
