Ricoh is hoping to show that just because a camera is slim, it doesn't have to be light on features. Its new R8 can take pictures up to 10 megapixels and includes a 7.1x optical zoom in a body that measures just 22.6mm at its thinnest point.
In addition to standard format pics, it can also take snaps with a 1:1 aspect ratio, resulting in square images that are convenient for blogging according to Ricoh.
You can easily review you photos on the large 2.7in LCD at the rear, which features a high res 460,000 pixel display so you can make out more detail. It also has a wide viewing angle, so more than one person can see the images at the same time, and it's high contrast so can be viewed easily outdoors.
The R8 is available now for £249.99, see Ricoh for further details.
