With its air freshener-like appearance, the Voxab V100 is a somewhat unconventional-looking telephone handset, but it offers a decent budget solution for budding VoIPers. Plugging into the microphone and speaker sockets of your computer (rather than the USB port), it takes up minimal desk space and features a two-metre cord for flexible chatting. Although the Voxab doesn't come packaged with VoIP software, such as Skype, you can easily download this from the net, while the device is compatible with any PC or Mac with a soundcard. It also features a volume control, so those late-night conversations need not disturb your neighbours.
