Trillian is most notable for letting you connect to friends on other instant messengers, including AIM, ICQ, MSN and Yahoo, provided you have accounts with these services. Its smooth, simple interface makes text and audio conversations very straightforward, though video chat is only available in the Pro version, which costs $25 (£13). Besides a wealth of customisation options, Trillian's most useful features are its Activity History system, which logs all your conversations; file transfers that can be scanned for viruses; and integration with Wikipedia so you can check facts from your chats.
