System Mechanic is a very straightforward tool that scans your computer for problems and then fixes any it finds. You can choose a Quick Analysis or a Deep Analysis. The latter only takes around five to seven minutes to complete so unless you're in a major hurry it's always worth choosing this option. The scans tackle a wide range of problems, from finding and fixing Registry faults to repairing system vulnerabilities.

The ActiveCare component can perform numerous tasks automatically during idle moments including checking for spyware, blitzing unwanted clutter and repairing hard-disk errors. There are also some additional utilities available under the Tools menu that can clean, fix and speed up your PC. You can choose to run these either individually or all in one go.
