Editing with Sony's software is fast and efficient – it has single-button shortcut keys, which are really handy once you get used to them, and you can navigate your work-in-progress frame-by-frame using the cursor keys.

The biggest downside to the software is that you have to open a second application in order to create DVD chapters and menus, and the built-in online uploader is limited to a single service (and it's not YouTube), though this is compensated by the bargain price. If you're looking for HD features, you'll need to consider the Platinum Edition (£49.95).
