It's not the most attractive of program launchers, but Skylight's simple interface keeps things clean and intuitive. Press Alt and Space to load it and then type in some search words. It indexes applications, files and folders, and offers some very useful features. Searches can be targeted to just launcher items (programs, folders or contacts), or to media (music, video or pictures). Once you find a song or a video clip, you can play it directly in Skylight.

The program also has a built-in web search feature that will let you find items on Wikipedia, Facebook, Dictionary.com and other key sites. The YouTube search option even displays handy thumbnails of matching videos. Finally, Skylight has a built-in Windows Live Messenger plug-in so you can send messages from it or search your contacts.
