ShiftSpace is a grand concept that doesn't quite work. It offers a layer of space above a website that its users can leave notes on. Once you've downloaded the (Firefox only) add-on, you simply press Shift and Space to access this usually invisible upper layer. Its relative complexity means it isn't particularly intuitive and it's tied to the computer and browser you installed it on. We also objected to it hogging the Shift/Space combo, which otherwise moves you up a web page one screen at a time.
