Smaller and lighter (85g) than an iPod Mini, it offers 5GB of storage for MP3 and WMA files, and boasts a 1.5in colour screen on which you can view JPEG images. With minimal controls and an intuitive interface, it's extremely easy to use, and allows for direct encoding from external sources via its built-in microphone and line-in port.

Where it falls down is in staying power, with a meagre battery life of eight hours that puts it far behind its rivals. It's also slow to start up, making you wait almost 20 seconds for your tunes. |
