Ma.gnolia is similar to del.icio.us in both its name and functionality, but despite copying many features from its rival – such as the ability to store bookmarks via a bookmarklet, tag them and share them with others – Ma.gnolia also has a couple of unique features.

Firstly, all links added are assigned a short URL (similar to the TinyURL service), making them easy to share with others. Web User's roundup of online community tools, for example, can be accessed at http://ma.gnolia.com/cowehaheg, which is much easier to type than www.webuser.co.uk/products/Online_Community_Tools_3135_index.html.

Ma.gnolia has also embraced the application platform offered by the social-networking site Facebook, and its implementation is actually better than that of del.icio.us as it lets you see at a glance all new links added by your friends.
