This review updated: 23/06/2005 Featured in magazine: Issue 112 Manufacturer Contacts: Supplier: Konica Minolta Web Address: www.konicaminolta.co.uk This tiny camera hides some incredible features for its cigarette-box size. The diminutive chassis houses a 5-megapixel camera, a 2.5in LCD screen that necessarily takes up a large proportion of the back of the unit, and a 3x optical zoom. It comes with a rechargeable battery and a charger to keep it juiced up. The package doesn't include an SD card but has 15MB of internal memory to get you started or act as an overflow. Picture quality far surpassed our expectations for a camera so small. Our test shots were sharp, well contrasted and had reasonable colour reproduction. What a shame then that it should fall at the last hurdle – ease of use. It comes with software from Kodak and Konica, which is a bit confusing at first, and also has a few annoying quirks in terms of how the buttons on the camera are organised, but you should get used to this with practice.
Verdict
More Digital cameras reviews:
This is all outweighed by its tiny size and serious devotion to high-end features for the price. If you're looking for something that'll slide into the smallest of pockets but still provide excellent quality shots, you need look no further. |
