Fleck comes as either a browser extension or bookmarklet and works with Firefox, Internet Explorer and Safari. The extension adds a big yellow button to your browser. Press it, and a toolbar appears at the bottom of the browser window. This lets you add new notes, which can be as small as bullet points (if you don't want them to take over the whole page) or expanded into larger text notes. Once you've annotated a site you can share it via a blog or email, or just browse through the sites you've annotated from Fleck's homepage. We found that the performance suffered a little, as the service operates by taking pages and running them through its own servers to add the annotations. This means you end up at completely different web addresses.
