When you come back from your holidays with a digital camera loaded with pictures, the first thing you do is upload them to your computer. You may then choose to show them to others on your favourite online sharing site and possibly even make prints of the best shots to show them off at home. But the majority of your snaps are destined to remain in a folder on your hard disk hidden from view.
