Bopspam uses all three methods of spam filtering – heuristic, Bayesian and white/black listing – to analyse your incoming messages. We found it worked remarkably well, starting to pick up suspect messages from the start, even before the Bayesian filtering had seen enough messages to provide a reliable sample.

All emails are intercepted before they arrive at your computer so it doesn't matter where you're picking email up from, but you have to set up your mail software manually in order to point it at Bopspam's servers, though this is explained on the site. At the end of each day you'll get an email detailing any captured spam, just in case it's caught something you want to see.

The most complicated thing about this is its pricing structure, which varies depending on the volume of emails you get, including the spam. For £30 per year you get 120MB, while £50 per year gives you 1GB. Try the free 30-day trial and you'll get a fair idea of which service you're likely to need and how much it will cost.

Verdict
However, if you're being inundated with spam, you'll probably be prepared to pay for a good service that really works and, as long as people don't send you a lot of attachments, most casual users will fit into the £30 per year package.
