A well-priced scanner with some useful functions, the BenQ 6550T caters to a wide range of needs. It's equipped with a transparency adapter that automatically recognises the format of slides and film then applies the best settings. You can use its MergeMagic tool to scan A3 documents, and restore faded old photos to their former glory. It's simple to use, with five quick scan buttons, and comes with a good selection of software. Unfortunately, while scans are bright, they lack detail and take an age to process – almost twice as long as similar spec rivals.
