BT quite rightly thought it would be missing a trick if it didn't get involved in VoIP, so its service piggy-backs on Yahoo's instant messenger. Its greatest flaw is that it's tied to the BT Together rates, which are confusing compared to many other services' simple free or standard per minute rates. For example, you can call a UK landline for an hour at 6p in the evenings or weekends, but it's 3p a minute in the day. Some popular countries are just over 1p a minute to call, but call another country (like Israel or the Czech Republic) and you could be paying over 50p a minute. You don't have to buy credit though – your internet phone bill will simply be added to your regular BT bill.
