Netbooks may have started out as cut-down, low-performance machines but Asus is looking to change that with the new Eee PC 1201N.
It packs a dual-core Intel Atom 330 processor and an Nvidia Ion graphics chip so it should be no slouch when it comes to performance. The screen stretches to 12.1in and it also sports an HDMI port for watching HD material on the big screen.
It comes pre-loaded with Windows 7 and according to Asus should run for up to five hours on battery.

A new version of the TomTom iPhone app, which is compatible with the iPod Touch and the original 2G iPhone, is now available at the Apple App Store.
The latest update, version 1.2, includes new features such as text-to-speech functionality and customisable audio warnings when approaching safety cameras or driving over the speed limit.
It also offers a Help Menu featuring emergency numbers and directions to the nearest emergency providers, an updated map and safety camera database and iPod player control.
But in order for the app to work on the the iPod Touch and the iPhone, you will need to buy a new GPS-enabled TomTom car kit, which will go on sale on 20 November for £79.95. The iPhone 3G and 3GS do not require the kit as they have built-in GPS.
The TomTom app for iPhone and iPod Touch including a map of Western Europe is available for £79.99, while the app with a map of the UK/Republic of Ireland is available for £59.99.

The Wind 12 U200 comes pre-loaded with Windows 7 and packs a 12.1in 1,366 x 768 resolution widescreen display. It's powered by an Intel 1.4GHz CULV SU3500 processor and a healthy 2GB of memory.
The hard drive stretches to 320GB and it comes with 802.11n Wi-Fi built in. In addition to VGA out you'll also find HMDI, making it easy to hook up to a big screen TV.

Freeview is all set to go HD next year, but in the meantime TVonics has announced its HDMI equipped DTR-HV250 recorder.
It'll upscale existing recordings to high definition and it also includes an HDMI switch - useful for connecting up to two other devices to your TV if it only has one HDMI socket.
