Puppy-throwing girl found in Bosnia
The girl who sickened millions of people on the internet by being filmed apparently throwing six new-born puppies into a river has been traced, according to reports today.
Bosnian police said they found the girl in the town of Bugojno following leads from animal protection groups in the country.
The girl's name hasn't been released, but she faces a fine of up to £4,000, which is the maximum penalty under Bosnian law for animal cruelty.
In the video, the girl, wearing a red hooded top, appears to pick up the tiny black-and-white puppies one by one, before tossing each of them into a river.
It provoked an enormous reaction on the web, with thousands of people expressing their disgust and outrage.
One visitor to Webuser.co.uk said: "All parties to this disgusting piece of mindless behavior desperately need treating - preferably by incarceration in company with other psychotic sociopaths."
A girl calling herself Katja Puschnik had claimed responsibility for throwing the puppies into the river, but her confession - which was written under a separate YouTube video - has since been removed.
The puppy-throwing video was posted on YouTube just days after a video appeared of a Coventry woman dumping a cat in a wheelie bin.
Like the puppy-throwing girl, the "cat bin woman" (45-year-old bank worker Mary Bale) faced a barrage of abuse on the internet, including Facebook groups attacking her.
One visitor to Webuser.co.uk said: "What sort of person does it take to do that? I think you are very cruel. I love my cats."
