Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows trailer released online

The first official trailer for the forthcoming Harry Potter film - The Deathly Hallows - is now online.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is the next - and final film - in the boy wizard's seven-part series, based on JK Rowling's novels.

It has been filmed in two parts with the first being released in November 2010 and the second in cinemas July 2011.

Part one continues from the sixth film and book - Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. It begins with Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger searching for Horcruxes - parts of their mortal enemy Voldemort's soul that have been hidden to make him immortal.

Voldemort's Death Eater army have also taken over the Ministry of Magic and Potter's school Hogwarts.

Part two sees the climax of the series in which Harry Potter confronts Voldemort in a final battle to the death.

Both 'Deathly Hallows trailer' and 'Harry Potter trailer' were trending topics on Twitter on Tuesday (29 June). Fans tweeted their excitement about the films with one saying: "HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS trailer - now that's what I call an EPIC!"

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park opened in Orlando, Florida on 18 June.
