FarmVille suffers mass outage

Popular online game FarmVille has suffered a serious outage with many players unable to access their farms on Tuesday.

The game lets players create virtual farms where they grow crops and rear livestock in order to gain points and has around 80 million players worldwide.

Messages such as "Oh no! It looks like all the bits got lost on the way to your computer. Please try again in five minutes" and "Could not create a user session. Please refresh the page" appear when the game is accessed both through Facebook and the FarmVille website.

The game's Facebook page has been inundated with messages from angry players.

"Not happy one bit, my crop needs harvesting and it just won't let me on. Always seems to be FarmVille with the problems, need to fix and solve the problem," one player wrote.

"Okay this crap with bits being lost since 5:30am Eastern time is for the birds! I have updated everything and even had a friend try and still can't get in to harvest," wrote another.

Zynga, the company behind FarmVille, has not yet responded to Web User's request for comment.
