Derek Wyatt Labour MP launches MyMP iPhone app main

Labour MP Derek Wyatt has launched an iPhone app called MyMP so that constituents can keep track of his whereabouts and political activities.

The Sittingbourne and Sheppey MP is the first politican in the world to launch such an app.

His constituents will be able to find out where he is, what he's doing, surgery hours and also send Wyatt messages directly.

Wyatt said: "Now people can alert me in real time to any issues that I need to address. This is a new way to encourage people who might not be particularly engaged in technology or politics to get involved, even if it is only to send me complaints!"

Wyatt used Twitter last July to announce he won't be standing as an MP again at the forthcoming general election.

The app is available for free from Apple's App Store and will be expanded to include other MPs in the coming months.
