Orange offers SMS photo sharing on Twitter

Orange has joined forces with Twitter to become the first operator to offer photo uploads to the micro-blogging network via MMS.

Google and Bing team up with Twitter

Orange has announced that it has joined forces with Twitter to add the micro-blogging site to its Social Life service.

Twitter will join Facebook, MySpace and Bebo in being fully integrated into the Orange mobile service.

Customers will now be able to send and receive Twitter updates directly using text messaging and for the first time, share photos on Twitter through MMS.

Photos will be posted on Snapshot, a site developed by Orange UK, which automatically puts the link directly to Twitter in a ‘tweet' - similar to TwitPic and other services.

Orange TV customers will also be able to tweet through their TV packages under the new deal.

The alerts will be free and the upload texts will be included in packages or charged at the normal rate.
