The Koobface worm can now behave in a way that makes it seem like a real human being, security researchers have warned.
Trend Micro said it had discovered a new component of the worm that enables it to not only set up a Facebook account but confirm it from a Google Mail account, join random Facebook groups, add friends and post messages on the wall of other Facebook members.
"This new component behaves like a regular internet user that starts to connect with friends in Facebook," said Jonell Baltazar of Trend Micro.
"All Facebook accounts registered by this component are comparable to a regular account made by a human. The details provided about the account are complete such as photo, birth date, favorite music, and favorite books, among others," Baltazar continued.

It even makes sure it doesn't send out too many friend requests within a certain amount of time to avoid alerting Facebook administrators, said Trend Micro.
Messages that the Koobface worm posts on another member's wall typically lead to malware that can take over computers allowing them to be controlled remotely as well as steal information.
