PlayStation owners more faithful: study

Ladies: Does your boyfriend own a games console? If the answer is no, you should be worried, according to a survey.

Non gamers more likely to cheat on partners

Men who own a games console are more faithful to their girlfriends or wives than those who don't, according to a survey.

The PS3PriceCompare.co.uk website surveyed 1,562 males between the ages of 16 and 30 and found that those who didn't own consoles were more prone to go elsewhere for their entertainment.

Half of non-gamers admitted to being unfaithful, but only 20 per cent of gamers said that they had cheated on their partner in the past.

"I suppose gamers either just don't have the time or the motivation to go out and cheat, as most of them would prefer to spend their leisure time at home with their consoles rather than going out and about. For the gamer, the console is his mistress," said Mike Elsmore of PS3PriceCompare.co.uk.

But non-gamers are more romantic than gamers, according to the study - 80 per cent claimed they regularly wined and dined their partner, but only 44 per cent of gamers said the same.

A previous survey by PS3PriceCompare.co.uk found that half of women would ban games consoles. On the evidence of this latest poll, they might want to have a rethink.
