Ancestry.co.uk has made 32 million records relating to World War One available on its website.
The records include medical documents, discharge papers and private letters from soldiers in the trenches to their families back in England.
Ancestry has already made several archives relating to the First World War online, including details of pension records.
Some of the records in the new collection relate to well-known public figures such as the playwright Noel Coward, who was honourably discharged after receiving a head injury, and Sherlock Holmes actor Basil Rathbone.
The new records cover nearly two million British soldiers who served in World War One.
Ancestry.co.uk costs £10.95 per month to access or £83.40 for a year's membership.
