Apple's App Store for iPhone and iPod Touch owners has passed a significant milestone with more than 100,000 apps now on offer.
Back in September, Apple announced that there had been more than two billion apps downloaded from the App Store, which opened in July 2008.
"The App Store, now with over 100,000 applications available, is clearly a major differentiator for millions of iPhone and iPod Touch customers around the world," said Philip Schiller, Apple's senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing.
There are 20 categories of apps in the App Store, which can be downloaded by customers in 77 different countries, Apple said.
Many apps can be downloaded for free, though some such as iRa Pro cost as much as $900 (around £545).
