Sexy photos offer in email warning

Surfers are advised to be wary of emails from an unknown female sender offering the recipient 'sexy' pictures.

Sexy photos email warning

If you receive an email from an unknown female sender, seemingly including 'sexy' pictures, delete them at once, security experts have warned.

The emails, easy to recognise with their poor use of grammar, claim to be sent by 'your sweet girl' though the attachments aren't images at all, but malware.

According to Graham Cluley of security firm Sophos, opening one of the attachments will install a Trojan on your PC.

"Malicious campaigns like this only work because the hackers are able to successfully socially engineer unsuspecting users into opening the dangerous file," said Cluley.

The trick is a variation of the scam where cybercriminals attempt to pique interest by offering photos of a celebrity such as Zombieland actress Emma Stone naked.

In the recent past, Ashley Greene, Megan Fox, Angelina Jolie, Paris Hilton and Britney Spears have all been used as bait in similar scams.
