Orange has announced that it will launch the iPhone free to Pay Monthly customers from 10 November.
Up until now Apple's iPhone has only been available on the O2 mobile network in the UK.
The Orange iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS will be available to Pay As You Go, Pay Monthly and Business customers in Orange shops, Carphone Warehouse, Phones4U and online.
Many high-street stores will be opening early and closing late on the day of release.
For contract customers the 3G model will be free on a £30 per month, 24-month plan with the 3GS free on all £45-per-month plans.
Orange iPhone pricing disappoints
Pay As You Go customers can buy the 3G iPhone handset for £333 as long as they top up £50 when they buy it.
There are also other consumer, business plans and tethering bundle options available.
Orange is only the second mobile provider to offer the iPhone on its network, though Vodafone will follow suit early next year.

So much for competition bringing prices down. O2 have a £25pm plan which Orange don't seem able to match.
I don't want a gazillion minutes and texts every month, but unlimited (nominally) internet is an absolute must, but no-one wants to offer that.

Still overpriced if you ask me. I'll stick with a phone that can multi-task.

According to 02's website the cheapest way to get a iPhone is a £30 contract plus £100 for the phone itself. With this in mind Oranges £30 plus free phone seems an obvious improvement. With Vodafone joining the fight next year prices might actually fall far enough for me to seriously consider one at last.
