Google Wave invite scam warning
Surfers should watch out for rogue programs in circulation that claim to automatically generate invites for Google Wave.
Limited real-time trials of Google Wave are currently taking place and to get involved you need to be invited by another participant.
Invites are like gold dust at the moment, so the appeal of a program that can automatically generate invites is very high.
However, experts warn that rather than get yourself into the trial, you'll actually be giving a cybercriminal all he or she needs to get into your email Inbox.
"Note that it asks for an email address and password, which is highly dubious - worst case scenario, end users could unthinkingly send a current email/password combination into the wide blue yonder with no idea who is at the other end," said Christopher Boyd of FaceTime Security.
