Full-length Channel 4 shows on YouTube

Feature-length shows from Channel 4's video 'catch-up' service - 4oD - are to be made available on YouTube.

The content deal is the first time a broadcaster anywhere in the world has put a catch-up schedule on YouTube.

The video site announced last week that it was serving over 1 billion video streams every day so the deal with Channel 4 will give the network more advertising revenue potential and reach.

Under the terms of the deal, Channel 4 will make its 4oD programmes available on YouTube shortly after they've been aired on TV, especially shows that have a popular online following such as Skins, Hollyoaks, The Inbetweeners and Peep Show.

YouTube users will also get access to the 4oD archive, including Brass Eye, Derren Brown and Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares.

Shows will begin to appear on the branded channel within YouTube in the coming months and will be fully available by early 2010. All programmes will be only available in the UK.

Programmes such as Skins, Peep Show and The Inbetweeners will be made available in full and for free on video-hosting site YouTube.
