Carla Bruni website crash

The website of Carla Bruni, the French first lady, went offline on Monday after it was inundated with traffic.

The newly-launched site was down within hours after surfers flocked to www.carlabrunisarkozy.org to find out more about the former model's charity work.

"Because of too many visits, the site carlabrunisarkozy.org is temporarily unavailable," a message on the site reads.

Bruni is married to the French President, Nicolas Sarkozy.

Last year, Bruni released 14 songs from her album Comme si de rien n'était (As if Nothing Had Happened) on the web for free.

In one of the songs, Ta Tienne (Yours), she sang of her love for the diminutive President, whom she met in November 2007.

"You are my lord, you're my darling, you're my orgy... my charming Prince I am yours... I who always sought fire, am burning for you like a pagan woman," Bruni sings.
