The Amazon Kindle 2 e-book reading device could be on sale in the UK by next week, according to reports.
Rumours are circulating on the web that Amazon's e-Reader, which has been available in the US for several months, could finally come to these shores in October.
Kindle owners are able to download content such as e-books from the Amazon website, as well as loading content from their own computers onto the device.
A report on The Bookseller's website suggested that industry insiders are anticipating a launch this month.
The Kindle 2 is the second Amazon-manufactured e-Reader, the first Kindle having gone on sale in the US in 2007.
Back in July 2009, Amazon said that it had no timeline for launching the Kindle in the UK but hinted that it would happen at some stage.
An Amazon spokeswoman told Web User that the company would not comment on speculation.
