Yahoo Mail revamped

UK-based Yahoo Mail users will be able to use a new version of the webmail service from Friday.

The company said that the enhancements would help you communicate more easily with the people you care about.

"Yahoo Mail's new features bring together the things that are important to you – like friends, news, mail, chat and photos – in the easiest way possible," said Yahoo's David McDowell.

Attaching photos to emails will now be easier because you can drag and drop photographs from your Desktop straight into the email, Yahoo said.

You can also share status updates from your social-networking profiles more easily, and emails from your most important contacts – family and friends – will appear closer to the top of your Inbox than less important ones, such as newsletters.

From next month, Yahoo plans to add the capability of sharing large files (up to 100MB) through Yahoo Mail using third-party services such as ZumoDrive, the company said.

Yahoo Mail has 11 million customers in the UK, according to Yahoo.
