Where to see live football?

If you're not sure where you'll be able to catch football games while enjoying a pint, help is at hand.

Where to see live football?

Have you ever turned up in a pub to watch a football match to find that it isn't being shown?

It's happened to me a few times. Usually, a bit of cajoling of the bar staff and landlord will resolve the situation, but some pubs simply don't go in for live sport on TV - and fair enough, because not everyone wants to see it.

In order to overcome this problem, Samsung has launched a new site - www.samsungfootball.co.uk - that gives you listings of all the pubs that'll be showing football games whether on terrestrial or satellite TV.

You can find out where to see the action just by typing in your postcode. At the moment, it seems to be finding the pubs in my locale without a problem, though information about upcoming games seems to be lacking.

However, it's a great idea for sure and there are bound to be a few teething problems - look out for a review in an upcoming issue of Web User.

Of course - if you want to watch live football on the web, keep an eye on our Watch Online Blog.

In the meantime, football fans, a quick warning: Promises of tickets for the 2010 World Cup might not be all they seem.
