Google revamps Street View site

Google has revamped its Street View website in order to make it into a one-stop shop for information about the mapping service.

Google has overhauled its Street View website to act as a portal for all types of information about the service.

The controversial service has attracted criticism from privacy campaigners since its launch in 2007.

In response to privacy concerns, the company has made it easier to find information about how to report inappropriate images and read about Google's privacy policy on the Street View website.

"We've found that Street View has been one of the features that folks are most curious about, so we have given our Street View overview site a refresh that puts everything you wanted to know about Street View in one place," said Julie Zhou of Google.

Street View, which came to the UK in 2009, has also attracted controversy in Greece and Japan and been the subject of a court case in the US.

Several areas of the UK that have yet to be visited by the Street View Car, such as Stonehenge and the Eden Project, are now being photographed by the Google Trike.
